Residents’ Information
We would like to welcome all residents who have recently moved into the building. Please find some information below which may be of help, if you have any enquiries, please use the contact us page.
We have a site management team who are on site most days. We ask that you help us keep the building clean and tidy and look after the communal areas. The communal areas are cleaned weekly.
There are two car parks in the building. Not all flats come with parking spaces, and please note the parking space numbers are not the same as the flat numbers. If you are unsure which parking space belongs to your flat, please drop us an email. We ask that you only park in your designated space. Please note the fobs used to open the car park gates are recorded.
As per the building & fire regulations no items should be placed or stored on balconies at any time. Clothes should not be hung or exposed on balconies.
Smoking is not permitted in the communal areas, car parks or balconies.
The service cupboard in the corridor outside your apartment contains your water stop valve should you discover a leak. You should have a master key to open this cupboard, if not, please contact your landlord or letting agent. Water meters are also located in these cupboards. If you don’t have a water meter – Northumbria Water will fit one for free.
These are located in 2 rooms, one in each car park (basement and ground floor). Your service cupboard key will also open the door to the meter rooms.
Marconi House is not a student block and is prominently occupied by professionals, and families with children. As the apartments are very close together, sound travels easily – we respectfully ask all residents to be considerate to your neighbours, and ask that no noise is audible outside of your flat as per the building regulations, which all landlords have agreed to as part of their lease. If you suffer any noise problems please do not hesitate to contact us.
The bin store is located in the ground floor (upper) car park. The bins at Marconi House are for bagged household waste only. No items of furniture, electrical goods, large bulky items etc should be placed in the bins. Instead, the local council tip is located down the road on Glasshouse Street and items should be taken directly there. Boxes can be placed into the bins and should please be flatpacked as much as possible. The bin store is covered by CCTV, any unauthorised items placed in or around the bin store will be charged for.
CCTV cameras are in operation throughout the communal areas, the CCTV is monitored remotely and all footage is recorded. This is for the safety and security of all residents.
Please ensure all main entrance and car park doors remain closed and locked.
On hearing the fire alarm, residents should leave the building via the nearest exit and contact the fire service on 999. The fire alarm control panel is located at the East Entrance – (next to Apartment 1) and the fire service should be directed here which will indicate where the alarm has been triggered.
